Janison is now preparing a range of updated learning portals that will be hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform, it's an exciting development and one which we believe will lead the way in demonstrating the effective use of cloud server technology.
Our new ACMA (the Australian Communications and Media Authority) Connect.ed Cybersafety portal will be the first release. With rich media content and a target audience of over 250,000 teachers Australia wide, Connect.ed will need to be able to scale to support such a large number of potential users.
Janison developers are currently putting the finishing touches on the Azure based system which will use SQL Azure to support the database and the Azure CDN to host the media content.
It will be the first learning portal hosted wholly in Microsoft Azure.
Also under development is our next version of the Deloitte Leadership Academy. Currently the academy,http://www.leadershipacademy.com.au, is a very popular portal for providing online learning resources for leaders across the globe. With over 1200 courses and over 600 video resources the portal will benefit from it's new location in the cloud by allowing all of it's status resources such as videos to be streamed directly from the Azure CDN.
As with Connect.ed, we are not just moving content, but the entire application, so the new home for DLA will allow us to more easily create and deliver new features and to access new markets. Early in the second half of this year we plan to offer a new version DLA in Mandarin and this will be hosted in Azure's East Asia datacentre.
Using the latest technology to create faster, more innovative learning portals faster than ever before is quite exciting, we are looking forward to releasing more learning portals in the coming months on Microsoft Azure.
