There is a lot happening at our office at the moment and we would really like to find a few more people to help us with the projects we have lined up and some of the new opportunities that are being planned for the future.
What’s it like to work at Janison ?
Well, for people who are used to working for a software company there are quite a few things different about Janison.
First, shock, horror, if you want to work with us there is a good chance you are going to need to move. Our office isn’t in Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra. We are located on the mid north coast of NSW, about 100 metres from the beach, many of our staff have a surf in the morning before they get to work. Not all of us surf, but that doesn’t stop us enjoying living in an amazingly beautiful part of the world. Yes it doesn’t have everything that a big city has, but it is balanced by some great advantages too.
Want to find out more about our location ? This video gives you a little idea of what its like.
Our company is family oriented. We don’t just say that, we believe it and feel it. As a business we have grown over a number of years, with many of our staff marrying and having children during their time of employment. Now our family get togethers see more children in the office than adults ! It’s important to us that we support our families and our communities.
We pride ourselves in being actively involved and contributing to local activities and events. Janison is a significant part of the Coffs community and with that we take our responsibility to participate and share our experience seriously.
There are about 40 people working in Coffs, we have a few in other cities in Australia and New Zealand and a small team in India. We really would like some more people to join us in Coffs.
Even though we live in a regional centre, our projects are for national or international clients.
Many of them are secured or restricted, so we can’t show too much of what they do, but one of our recent public ones is Deakin Connect - a public online MOOC for Deakin University.
You can visit, register and have a look around at your leisure. www.deakinconnect.com
If you read back through our blog you will see more examples of other projects too.
Who are we looking for ?
We are looking for software developers and project managers. We develop web applications on the Microsoft platform. We use all of the latest tools and methodologies, we create applications that can run on traditional on-premise environments and simultaneously on the Windows Azure cloud infrastructure. We are a Microsoft Gold Partner for Application Development, we send developers to TechEd every year, encourage our staff to acquire professional certifications and have been awarded a number of national awards for the our software development activities.
When we were looking around recently we saw how others measure the maturity of their development teams and were pleased to see we measure up well to many of the questions that are often asked.

Of course, we are far from perfect, but we are committed to a program of continuous improvement that sees regular review and change. We know how important is to have great people on our teams and to give them an opportunity to contribute and develop new ideas.
We have created an environment for our teams that we think is pretty special. Our development centre uses modern infrastructure and equipment, we have fast and dedicated connections to the Internet and our new NBN connection will be turned on before the end of this year.
We have two ads currently up on Seek:
